What happened in the Tractor Wheels recall

FDA says it told Once Upon a Farm about the adverse event reports. The company agreed to start a recall. FDA's note is dated October 30, 2026.

The company's own notice is dated October 30, 2026. It says the recall followed "three consumer complaints that were reported to FDA for choking." FDA posted the notice on November 2.

On November 3, FDA updated its advice. The update says the firm recalled all three flavors on October 30. It lists expiration dates up to 8/26/2027.

The company says it is working with FDA "to make sure affected products are removed as the company works on reformulating."

Where they were sold

The Tractor Wheels bars were sold nationwide, including Puerto Rico. They went out online and in retail stores.

FDA names three stores that sold the bars: Costco, Target and Walmart. FDA adds the bars may be sold elsewhere, such as Amazon.com and other third-party vendors.

Recall class

Neither the FDA advisory nor the company notice gives a class. The recall does not yet appear in FDA's Enforcement Report as of November 3, 2026.

Here's what the classes mean when FDA assigns one. Class I is "a reasonable probability" of serious health problems or death. Class II "may cause" temporary or medically reversible health problems. And Class III means the product isn't likely to cause health problems.

What to do if you have the recalled bars

  2. Check expired bars too. The company says the recall includes "expired products which may be on consumers' shelves."
  3. Return them for a refund at the place of purchase, or throw them away.

To report a problem, FDA's advisory points to its "Industry and Consumer Assistance" page.

The choking risk: what FDA reported

The company says the bars "can rapidly hydrate into a dense, dry, and sticky mass upon contact with saliva and during chewing." The company calls this "a potential choking hazard for toddlers for ages 1.5-2.5 years old."

FDA's account goes further. FDA says the bars "reportedly" form a dry, sticky mass. It says standard choking first aid may fail to clear the mass. That includes back blows and the Heimlich maneuver.

FDA says it has received several reports of toddlers with complete airway obstruction. An obstruction is a block. The child cannot breathe. FDA says some reported choking cases needed an emergency response and hospital observation.

The company's notice says something different: "No injuries have been reported to date." We give both, each in its own source's words.

FDA says to "Call 9-1-1" if someone is choking and other first aid hasn't cleared the airway.

Also recalled for little ones: Peter Rabbit Organics banana pouches.
